120 Vac “Safety” Loop Detector -
Allows gate to stay open when vehicles are
obstructing path. Caution: Suggested for vehicles 14 feet or longer. If a vehicle is
shorter, a center loop system is recommended and should be installed.
If the “Inside” and “outside” safety loops are connected to the same loop detector:
• They should be series connected to the detector
• Have the same dimensions.
• Have the same number of wire turns. (See table below)
120 Vac “Exit” Loop Detector -
Allows gate to automatically open for
exiting vehicles.

Recommended Loop Wire XLPE 12-18 gauge
(Use heavier wire gauge for a more durable loop).
Remove sharp inside corners
by making corner cuts
The wire MUST be twisted together minimum 6
twists per foot from the end of the feeder slot to the
loop detector.
