Clarke in England and was patented from 1888-1920.
• We most often associate the word "buffet" with all-you-can-eat style meals, but the
word's 19th Century French origin refers to a sideboard. This type of table was
commonly found in dining rooms and was used to display and serve elaborate dishes.
