Setting up NC-View
™
Access rights and operator rights in NC-View
™
are controlled by three user groups, defined in Windows
Active Directory.
Create security groups
Three user groups must be created and should be named (case sensitive):
•
securemodeadmin
•
securemodesupv
•
securemodeuser
Assign users to predefined user groups
Users should be assigned to these three user groups depending on their role.
The securemodeadmin users have full rights in the NC-View™ application and can disable '21 CFR Part 11
mode', breaking the 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Users belonging to the securemodesupv and
securemodeuser groups have restricted user rights in NC-View™. The rights of each user group are
summarized in the 'User level restrictions' section. It is important to note that users assigned to the
seuremodesupv and securemodeuser groups, must not have local administrator rights, otherwise violating
the security of the setup.
Activate ‘Secure Mode’
The NC-View™ Secure Mode is configured under (Tools -> Options -> Authorization).
Secure Mode
When selecting ‘Enable’ a ‘Please Authorize Secure Mode enabling’ dialogue box will appear. A user should
be a member of the securemodeadmin user group to perform the activation. Activation will be registered in
the Audit trail.
