R eassem ble the Rotor and Bearing assem bly to the front
head o f the com pressor using Rotor & Bearing Installer J
2 6 2 7 1-A . With Installer assem bled to the Universal
H andle J 29886, as shown in Figure 22, force will be
applied to the inner race o f the bearing and the face of the
rotor w hen installing the assem bly onto the front head of
the com pressor.
5.
Install rotor and bearing assem bly retainer ring, using
Snap Ring Pliers J 6083 (Fig. 8).
6.
A pply sealer include GM 12345382 (Loctite 242 or
equivalent) to threads o f pulley rim m ounting screws.
Install screw s but do not torque the screws.
7.
Rotate the pulley rim and rotor to insure that pulley rim is
rotating “ in-line”. If pulley rim is distorted (does not
rotate in-line), adjust or replace pulley rim.
8.
Tighten pulley rim m ounting screws to 11 N*m (100
in.lbs.) torque and lock screw heads in place by bending
screw head w asher sim ilar to original crimp.
9.
R einstall C lutch Plate and Hub assem bly as described in
“C om pressor C lutch Plate and H ub” R eplacem ent

Install Pulley Rotor and Puller G uide J 25031 to the front
head (Fig. 14), and install J 33020 Pulley R otor and
Bearing Puller dow n into the inner circle o f slots in the
rotor (Fig. 15). Turn the J 33020 puller clockw ise in the
slots to engage the puller tangs with the segm ents
betw een the slots in the rotor.
Hold the J 33020 Puller in place and tighten the puller
screw against the Puller G uide to rem ove the pulley rotor
and bearing assem bly (Fig. 16).
To prevent dam age to the pulley rotor during bearing
rem oval, the rotor hub must be properly supported.
