CAUTION:
In addition to its function of filtering a ir drawn into the engine through the carburetor, the air cleaner

compartment, the a ir cleaner should be installed at all times unless its removal is necessary for repair or m ain
tenance services.
Paper Element Type - F irst 12,000 m iles, inspect element for dust leaks, holes, or other damage and replace if
necessary. If satisfactory, rotate element 180° from original installation position. Replace element at 24,000
m iles. Element must not be washed, oiled, tapped, or cleaned with an a ir hose. If so equipped, replace P.C.V.
breather filte r every 24,000 m iles (do not attempt to clean). If so equipped, clean wire mesh frame arrestor every

freezing. Adding oil and servicing the cleaner w ill vary greatly, depending upon operating conditions.
O il Wetted Paper Element With Polyurethane Wrap - This dual element a ir cleaner has extremely long life and
w ill not require replacement for 50,000 to 100,000 m iles under norm al operating conditions. Cleaning and oiling
of the polyurethane wrap should be done at 24,000 m iles under norm al highway or city-type operation. Service
