4-  Safety precautions for using the hydraulic jack

4.1- Important safety information and precautions

The products are manufactured according to state-of-the-art technology and are delivered safe for operation. Due to the method of
operation, there are locations and parts which cannot be covered or protected without significantly compromising functionality and
operability. Therefore, the operator must exercise a good, personal level of safety to protect himself and the device against
damages. The products may only be used and operated in the context of the conditions defined in the service level agreement and
the delivery contract. It is prohibited to refit, alter, or modify the devices without consultation with the manufacturer. If during
operation (remaining) dangers and risks not described in the manual become apparent, the operator is obliged to inform the
manufacturer of them.

The manufacturer is not liable for any personal injuries and property damages, which are caused by improper use of the
device. Each operator is obliged to read these operating instructions before startup of the device.

4.2- General safety precautions

The load to be lifted should never exceed the jack’s capacity.
Do not operate the jack exceeding the maximum lift specified on the rating plate.
Park the vehicle or the load to be lifted on a stable, even, horizontal surface, and secure the wheels, to eliminate possible
movements.
Never use the jack on a slope.
Always place the jack in a position that makes it impossible to operate it from below the vehicle.
Operation of the jack is only allowed when

additional safety supports

, e.g. support trestles, are used.

Please ensure before use of the jack that there are no persons in the vehicle, the handbrake is pulled, and the engine is switched
off.
Always refer to the vehicle’s manual to determine the correct lifting points.
When lifting points are not specified, then position the jack in the middle of the load. Incorrect positioning of the jack may cause
the load to topple over. This may damage the load or the jack, and injure the operator.
To eliminate movement of the vehicle during work with the jack, all corresponding measures must be taken.
Never use the jack contrary to its intended use.
For added safety, the jack is furnished with an overload valve, which is adjusted in the factory. It is not permitted to adjust the
valve

at any time

If these basic rules are not complied with, the operator may injure himself, or the load or the jack may be damaged.
A jack is only a lifting device and should never be used to transport or load a vehicle.

It is prohibited to shunt when loaded.

CAUTION: We point out that the lock-lever (lock, pos. #10-10) shown in the spare part drawing is not available. According
to regulations, valves must be returned to their original state during dangerous situations.

4.3-

Special safety precautions

Set the vehicle or the load to be lifted onto a stable, horizontal and even surface.

The jack may be used only when also using additional safety devices, e.g. safety blocks to be used underneath
the device.

Always secure vehicles around the wheels, in order to prevent sudden movements.

The load to be lifted may never exceed the capacity of the jack.

Never use the jack on leaning surfaces.

Always position the jack in such a way that its operation from below the vehicle is impossible.

Secure the load to be lifted against possible sudden movements.

The jack is equipped with a safety valve, which is factory-preset. Manipulating the safety valve is strictly
forbidden.

Never use the jack for purposes for which it wasn’t intended.

Only use the device for the stated purpose. Any other usage is strictly forbidden! ! !

We are not liable for injuries or damages that are due to the improper and incorrect usage of the crane, or to a disregard
for the safety precautions listed in this manual.
