4.4. LED functions
4.4.1. Power
The LED (GREEN) lights up in the presence of power.
4.4.2. Alarm
The LED (RED) lights up the instant the equipment detects the intrusion of an object that
completely covers the 3 optical lens area. An alarm relay is also activated at the same time.
4.5. Relay
4.5.1. Alarm
The alarm relay can be set as normally closed or normally open by setting dip switch 10.
It activates when the voltage, which is proportional to the signal received, decreases below a
value of 0.4 (Digit).
Caution
→
this value is only displayed correctly when there are no other infrared sources
directed toward the same receiver.
4.5.2. Disqualification
The disqualification relay can be set as normally closed or normally open by setting dip switch
10.
Its intervention is delayed by about 3 seconds (it therefore activates if disqualification conditions
persist for longer) and enters into operation when the voltage displayed on the Digit goes below
a level of approximately 0.8.
Caution
→
a disqualification signal should always be made known to the end user because it
can highlight a deterioration of installation conditions.
4.5.3. Tamper Contact
The Tamper contact is NC type and activates when the front cover is removed.
5. ADJUSTING DETECTION SPEED
The left side of the receiver board houses a trimmer which allows the user to select the crossing
speed to be detected. Using this trimmer, it is possible to set conditions for which alarm criteria
activates for fast or slow crossing. Faster is the crossing time detection (50mS), less is the
system will be immune to outside disturbances. Increased sensitivity is obtained by completely
turning the trimmer in the clockwise direction.
