12. THERMOSTAT RESISTANCES FOR DEMISTING
NEWTON-LKIT codes built to be housed in TOWER HT columns are equipped with thermostat
resistances for demisting. The use of resistances is essential for correct IR ray functioning.
Power voltage must be 13.8 Vdc. Connect to any of the two pairs of terminals (normally use one
to connect power input and one for output toward any additional resistance).
The thermostat is normally open (temperatures exceeding 24°C ± 20%) and, consequently, their
absorption is null. When the temperature goes below 17°C ± 20%, the thermostat closes its
contact and resistances are powered, with resulting current absorption of about 130mA.
CAUTION: The power supply relative to thermostat resistances must be prepared with a
separate line with respect to the one used for the barriers. Use a cable with cross-section

for these connections.
