Tip Care and Use
Tip Temperature:
High soldering temperatures can degrade the tip. Use the lowest possible
soldering temperature. This unit has excellent thermal recovery capabilities allowing for
effective soldering at lower temperatures. This strategy will also help protect the items being
soldered from heat damage. Different solders and different soldering scenarios will require
adjustments to the soldering temperature setting
Cleaning :
Clean the tip with the cleaning sponge frequently. This prevents oxides and
carbides from the solder & solder flux from forming impurities on the tip. Allowing these
impurities to build up can result in defective solder joints and it will reduce the heat
conductivity at the tip. If you use this system frequently, be sure to loosen the tip & remove all
oxides once a week to help prevent seizure & reduction of the tip temperatures
After Use:
Wipe the tip clean & coat the tip with fresh solder. This will prevent oxidation while
the tip is in storage mode
