Appendix A Replacing Memory Components
Replacing SDRAM DIMMs
Warning
Before opening the chassis, disconnect the telephone-network cables to avoid contact
with telephone-network voltages. To see translations of the warnings that appear in this
publication, refer to the
Regulatory Compliance and Safety Information
document that
accompanied this device.
Step 3
Attach an ESD-preventive wrist strap.
Step 4
Remove the chassis cover. (See the instructions in the section “
Replacing the Chassis Cover
” earlier in
this appendix.)
Step 5
Remove all cards to access the system board. (Refer to the
Cisco AS5350 and
Cisco
AS5400 Universal
Gateway Card Installation Guide
for instructions on removing specific cards.)
Step 6
Use
Figure A-4
to locate the DIMM you are replacing.
Step 7
Pull the socket latches away from the DIMM, and pull the DIMM out of the socket. (See
Figure A-5
.)
The latches hold the DIMM tightly, so be careful not to break the socket.
Caution
To prevent damage, do not press on the center of the DIMM. Handle the DIMM carefully.
