Cisco ICS System Manager
Key Features
ICS System Manager has the following key features:
•
Configuration—A single web interface allows network administrators to
configure many system components, such as the SSP. (To configure IP phones
and voice gateways, use Cisco CallManager.).
•
Monitoring—Administrators can remotely monitor systems through
ICS System Manager and can view data in real time.
•
Event management—ICS System Manager includes advanced event
management features and provides a single view into system-wide syslog
messages and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps.
Administrators can create customized reports on historical events, and they
can create site-specific event-notification rules.
•
Software upgrade—Administrators can use ICS System Manager for
remotely managing Cisco IOS images on the Cisco ICS 7750 and remotely
upgrading specific system cards in a chassis. A library of Cisco IOS images
can be maintained on the Cisco ICS 7750 for archiving or for later use.
•
Security—ICS System Manager provides seven access profiles for the
Cisco ICS 7750; these profiles allow multiple remote administrators with
different security or expertise levels to work on a system simultaneously.
•
Advanced configuration—Cisco IOS experts can use the command-line
interface (CLI) to configure any of the Cisco ICS 7750 IOS-based cards.
•
Centralized management—ICS System Manager supports SNMP, so that
administrators can use existing network management applications such as
CiscoWorks2000.
•
Remote access—ICS System Manager supports Integrated Virtual Private
Network (VPN) and Firewall features for highly secure remote access.
•
Logs and records—ICS System Manager stores the following system
information in a Microsoft SQL database:
