for Internet access . If your computer’s MAC address is

registeredwithyourISPandyoudonotwishtore-register

the MAC address, you may assign the registered MAC

addresstotheValetwiththeMACAddressClonefeature .

This screen is used to set up the Valet’s advanced

functions . Operating Mode allows you to select the

type(s)ofadvancedfunctionsyouuse .DynamicRouting

automaticallyadjustshowpacketstravelonyournetwork .

Static Routing sets up a fixed route to another network

destination .

Enabled/Disabled

IftheValetishostingyournetwork’s

connectiontotheInternet,keepthedefault,Enabled .If

another router exists on your network, select Disabled .

When Network Address Translation (NAT) is disabled,

dynamicroutingwillbeavailable .

DynamicRouting(RIP)

Dynamic routing uses the Routing Information Protocol

(RIP) . This option enables the Valet to automatically

adjust to physical changes in the network’s layout and

exchange routing tables with the other router(s) . The

Valet determines the network packets’ route based on

thefewestnumberofhopsbetweenthesourceandthe

destination .

When NAT is disabled, the Dynamic

Routingoptionisavailable .TousetheDynamicRouting

option,selectEnabled .

StaticRouting

Astaticrouteisapre-determinedpathwaythatnetwork
