ping
ping
To ping an IP address, use the ping command.
ping ip-address [count]

If no value is entered for the count, the system will default to 5. The system will accept a maximum count
of 20.
If the ping is issued from a Telnet session, control-c will stop the ping. If the ping is issued from a serial
port, control-c will not stop the ping.
Examples
The following example shows how to ping an IP address.
edfa > ping 192.168.0.1
PING 192.168.0.1 (192.168.0.1): 56 data bytes
--- 192.168.0.1 ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
ip-address
Specifies the IP address of the host to ping.
count
Specifies the number of ping packets to be sent.
