Editing a Dialing Rule
For further details about dialing rules and translation rules, see
Appendix F.
Note there is detailed, context-sensitive help via the Help Button on the Web MI
page.
Click
Edit
to the right of the rule you want to change. The current
information for the rule is displayed, as shown in
Figure
19
.

Enter the
Match criterion,
for example:.
(2xxx)
Matches a four-digit number beginning with 2
(n11)
Matches a North American Service Access Code (211, 311, 411, 511,
611, 711, 811 or 911).

Enter the
Translation rule
used to convert the key presses into an
alternative sequence. For example:
{}
All digits are copied to the final dialing string.
555{2-}
Adds all digits from the second digit onwards to 555. For example,
user dials 9123456, dialing string becomes 555123456.

By default, the dialing rule applies to all ports on Portico TVA. Select
ports from the list in
Excluded ports
if you do not want the dialing
rule to apply to them.

Click
Submit
to save your changes.
