Sensors
The following 8 sensors are used:
Sensor name
Description
Head Up Sensor
[SA Head Up Sensor PCB]
Photointerrupter.
Transparent Sensor
[SA TRA Sen PCB]
Photo sensor using the phototransistor.
Reflective Sensor
[SA Ref Sensor PCB]
Photo sensor consisting of 2 LEDs and 1
phototransistor.
Head Temperature Sensor
(SA Head)
Thermistor incorporated in the “SA Head”.
PF Motor Temperature Sensor
(SA PF Motor)
Thermistor attached to the “SA PF Motor”.
Ribbon Motor Temperature Sensor
(SA Ribbon Motor F)
Thermistor attached to the “SA Ribbon Motor F”.
Ribbon Tension Sensor
(SA Ribbon Sensor)
Photo sensor using 2 photointerrupters. Located on the
front side of the “Unit Ribbon”.
Ribbon Encoder Sensor
(SA Ribbon Encoder)
Photointerrupter to detect the running status of ribbon.
Located on the ribbon supply side.
(6)
Motors
Two motors are used. The “SA PF Motor” is a stepping motor to feed media. The “SA Ribbon
Motor F” is a stepping motor to take up ribbon.
(7)
USB I/F (USB2.0 compatible full-speed mode/high-speed mode)
This is a circuit to transmit and receive serial data between the printer and the host by means
of USB2.0 compatible full-speed mode (12Mbps) or high-speed mode (480Mbps).
USB I/F or Wired LAN I/F is automatically selected when data is received.
(8)
Wired LAN I/F
This is a circuit that supports Ethernet protocol. LAN connection is possible.
USB I/F or Wired LAN I/F is automatically selected when data is received.
(9)
Serial I/F (RS-232C) (O
p
tion)
This is a circuit to transmit and receive serial data between the printer and the host.
(10)
Parallel I/F (IEEE1284) (Option)
This is the parallel I/F to transmit and receive parallel data between the printer and the host. It
supports Centronics Compatible mode, NIBBLE mode and ECP mode.
