4. Installation
Note: Additional ventilation must be ensured if the temperature in the base unit
exceeds 35 °C.
1. Position the undersink unit as close to the tap as possible.
2. Connect the water inlet to the angle valve (not supplied). Use the flexible hose
supplied to make this connection.
3. Connect the carbonation valve to the sparkling water connection of the undersink
unit.
4. Connect the tap hoses to the undersink unit. Ensure there is a constant fall from the
tap down to the undersink unit. Trim the hoses to avoid loops and kinks. The hoses
must not be lengthened.
a. Connect the Y adapter to the steel connecting pipe of the tap.
b. Connect the cold water connection of the undersink unit and the sparkling water
connection of the carbonation valve to the free ends of the Y adapter. First trim
the plastic hoses to the required length and fit the supplied pipe insulation over
them.
5. Connect the signal leads of the tap and the undersink unit. Attach the plug
connection at a location away from any water splashes.
6. Position the carbon dioxide gas bottle upright against a wall within reach of the
gas connection hose.
7. Install the gas bottle holder at the location where the carbon dioxide bottle is to
stand so that it can be secured against toppling over.
Please note that the room where a carbon dioxide gas bottle is placed must
have a minimum room volume of 17 m
3
for every kg of bottle capacity.
8. Secure the gas bottle in an upright position to the gas bottle holder.
9. Connect the undersink unit to the pressure reducer for the gas bottle using the
braided hose supplied.
10. Connect the pressure reducer to the gas bottle:
a. Gas bottle with self closing valve: Turn the pressure adjusting screw on the
pressure reducer anticlockwise as far as it will go (no pressure). Turn the red
lever to the side (closed). Then quickly screw the gas bottle into the pressure
reducer, as far as it will go. The pressure in the gas bottle will be shown in
Manometer ‘A’.
b. Gas bottle with hand wheel: Turn the pressure adjusting screw on the pressure
reducer anticlockwise as far as it will go (no pressure). Turn the red lever to the
side (closed). Then connect the pressure reducer to the gas bottle. Tighten the
union nut moderately tight.
Note: The carbon dioxide gas bottle must always be used in the upright position
to ensure that the pressure reducer operates correctly and thus ensure the safety
of the unit.
Note: The carbon dioxide gas bottle must not be exposed to heat or to direct sun-
light. Please do not exceed the maximum ambient temperature of 35 °C. Provide
cooling if necessary.
