Tensioning the line
Push the pawl spring adjuster down so that the pawl
engages with the teeth of the ratchet (see pict. B).
Now all you have to do is to work the lever backwards
and forwards to pull in the line.
Releasing the tension
Lift up the pawl spring adjuster so that the pawl disengages from the ratchet (see pict. A), then move
the lever to the left as far as it will go in order to release the stop catch. Move the lever back to
the right to undo the reel one notch, repeat the procedure to release the tension further.

Feeding out the line
Hook the hook of the winch onto something securely anchored.
Lift the pawl spring adjuster to the top of the slot (see pict. A),
and then push the stop catch down (see pict. C). The line reel is
now in “freewheel” and the line can be drawn out.
