Operating instructions

1.  Hang the lantern in a suitable location.
2.  Place the solar panel unit where it is exposed to direct sunlight.
3.  The

ON – OFF

switch is located next to the solar cell.

Set the switch to the

ON

 position.

4.  Let the battery fully charge before using it for the first time.

Changing batteries

The rechargeable battery will eventually need to be replaced.
The battery compartment is located under the solar panel. Re-
move its 3 retaining screws to access the battery.
Only one

2/3 AAA 1.2 V/200 mAh NiMH

 rechargeable battery

should be used. The battery is not of a standard size and
replacements may be rather difficult to find in shops.

Care and maintenance

Clean the solar lantern by wiping it with a soft, damp cloth.
Use a mild detergent. Never use solvents or strong, abrasive
cleaning agents.

Troubleshooting

The lantern comes on automatically at dusk and doesn’t light
during the day.
If the solar lantern doesn’t light:
•  Make sure the switch is in the

ON

 position.

•  The light sensor may be blocked and prevent the light from

coming on. Block the solar panel and see if the light comes on.

•  The battery is not sufficiently charged. Place the solar panel

in an area where it receives sufficient sunlight.

•  The solar panel is dirty. Clean it.
