Reverse-polarity protection
The controller is protected from reverse polarity which means that it won’t be damaged if
the terminals of the battery are connected to the wrong connections on the controller.
Temperature sensor
If the temperature sensor in the controller is damaged, the controller will operate
based on the default ambient temperature of 25 °C.
High voltage transients
The controller is protected from high voltage surges but should still be protected from
lightning strikes by installing a lightning conductor close to the solar panel.
Troubleshooting guide
The charging status
LED indicator (1) is off
despite sun falling on
the solar panel.
Check all connections and cables to the solar panel
and battery.
The charging status
LED indicator is
flashing quickly.
Battery voltage too high. Disconnect the solar panel if
the indicator does not return to normal indication after
a short time.
LED 1 (3) flashing
slowly.
Battery voltage too low. Disconnect load devices and wait
for battery voltage to return to normal level.
LED 1 (3) flashing
quickly.
Battery almost fully discharged. Disconnect load devices
and wait for battery voltage to return to normal level.
Load status LED
indicator (2) flashing
slowly.
Overload. Disconnect the load device/s causing the overload.
Press [
], the controller will restart after 3 seconds.
Note:
In some cases it might be necessary to disconnect
both the battery and the solar panel from the controller to
ensure that it is completely de-energized before being able
to restart it after it has been overloaded.
Load status LED
indicator (2) flashing
quickly.
Short circuit. Disconnect the load device/s causing the short
circuit. Press [
], the controller will restart after 10 seconds.
Note:
In some cases it might be necessary to disconnect
both the battery and the solar panel from the controller to
ensure that it is completely de-energized before being able to
restart it after it has been short-circuited.
No LED indicator.
Battery fully discharged. Measure the battery voltage with
a multimeter. At least 6 V is required for the controller to
start charging the battery.
All connections are
correct but the charging
status LED indicator is
not on.
Measure the charging voltage from the solar panel, it must
be higher than the battery voltage.
