Safety
Important:
• Handle the product with care, making sure
not to damage the surface of the solar cell
and ensuring that it is not covered with dust
or affected by other contaminants.
• Never attempt to repair or modify the product
in any way.
• Repairs must only be carried out by qualified
service technicians and only using original
spare parts.
• The battery must only be replaced with a
rechargeable battery.
• Never let children play with the product.
• NEVER use non-rechargeable batteries in the
product.
Instructions for use
1. Remove the solar cell and LED light source
from the lantern.
2. Set the power switch to the ON position.
3. Reinsert the solar cell and LED light source
back into the lantern.
Bear in mind that:
• The solar lantern should be placed in an area
where it is exposed to direct sunlight. Placing
the lantern in an area shaded by buildings,
trees, walls, etc. will reduce the ability of the
solar cell to charge the battery.
• The solar lantern should not be placed within
the illumination zone of other light sources
such as car headlights or street lights.
• The solar lantern is intended for outdoor use
but it should not be placed where it may be
drenched in water or other liquid.
• The solar lantern should not be placed next to
direct sources of heat such as a brazier or BBQ.
• If you have several solar lanterns they can
come on at different times depending on the
lighting conditions.
Care and maintenance
• The lantern should be carefully wiped clean using a
soft, dry cloth.
• The solar cell should be wiped regularly (and
carefully) to prevent dirt and debris from affecting
its performance.
Battery replacement
The rechargeable battery can be replaced as follows:
1. Set the power switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the screws on the bottom of the solar cell unit.
3. Carefully open the housing. Be careful not to
damage the wires, contacts or circuit board.
4. Change the battery making sure that the new
battery is inserted with the correct polarity.
5. Screw the housing together again.
6. Set the power switch to the ON position.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that the product
should not be disposed of with
general household waste. This applies
throughout the entire EU. In order to
prevent any harm to the environment
or health hazards caused by incorrect
waste disposal, the product must
be handed in for recycling so that
the material can be disposed of in a
responsible manner. When recycling your
product, take it to your local collection
facility or contact the place of purchase.
They will ensure that the product is
disposed of in an environmentally sound
manner.
