• PACKAGING
The OH 0236 is shipped in a cardboard box, dismantled as follows:
- 1 head ;
- 2 feet ;
- A cylinder body
- A bag containing the 4 swivel wheels and screws.
1. Open the package, check that the device has not suffered any damage during transport and that
none of the parts indicated above are missing. The packaging can be recycled or reused. Place
the 4 rotating wheels at the end of the 2 feet and lock them by tightening the nut and washer.
2. CAUTION: Consult the exploded view to properly mount the wheels and feet.
3. Fasten with screws and washers, loosely, the 2 feet to the lower base of the cylinder body. Fully
pull out the rod and check that the cylinder is perpendicular to the base and tighten the foot
fixing screws.
4. Snap the head onto the end of the rod
5. Before first use, replace the oil plug at the top of the drum (A) with the drilled plug (B) supplied
with the pit cylinder (Fig. 2)
6. Test the operation of the cylinder (Fig. 3), first when empty and then with the intended load.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM LOAD SPECIFIED AND CLEARLY INDICATED ON
THE PIT JACK.
To lift the cylinder:
Operate with the foot of the pump piston control pedal (Fig. 3)
To lower the cylinder:
Slowly turn the pressure relief handle to the left (Fig. 4)
• OH 0236 should only be used for the assembly and disassembly of gearboxes and differentials.
IT MUST ONLY BE moved if it is found in the LOWEST POSITION (Fig. 5). During transport, make
sure that the load does not oscillate or fall.
• Do not overload! Overloading can cause damage or cylinder failure.
• When manoeuvring and moving the pit cylinder, be very careful that the load does not oscillate
or fall.
• When lifting other components, provided that their weight does not exceed the indicated load
limits (rear axle, or gearbox), adjustable heads specially adapted to the cylinder must be used.
• Before starting any repair, make sure that the vehicle is stable.
CAUTION: AVOID PLACING THE OFF-CENTER LOAD ON THE PIT CYLINDER! An uncentered
load can cause the pit cylinder to tip over or damage to the cylinder, load and persons.
