Replacing AC Breakers
On cabinets configured for local power, if a circuit breaker in the AC load center fails or becomes damaged, you can replace
the breaker in the field as described below. If the cabinet is equipped with charged batteries, this procedure does not affect
service.
DANGER!
High voltage may be present. Only a qualified electrician should perform this task. Follow NEC and
local codes when handling power systems. Do not restore AC power until the task is complete.
To replace an AC circuit breaker
At the local power transfer switch, disconnect AC power to the cabinet.
Note:
If the cabinet is equipped with charged batteries, this action does not affect service. The equipment
automatically switches to battery reserve power.
At the AC load center, switch the Main circuit breaker to OFF.
Remove the cover panel from the AC load center.
Remove any wires from the defective circuit breaker.
Remove the defective breaker from the load center and replace it with a new breaker of the same type
and rating.
Reconnect all wiring to the new circuit breaker.
Replace the AC load center cover panel.
At the AC load center, switch all breakers to ON.
At the local power transfer switch, restore AC power to the cabinet.
