2. Introduction
2.1

Depending on the power cord fitted this fan heater may be used in certain

locations such as households, warehouses and workshops, building sites or
greenhouses. It incorporates a thermostat and a self-resetting thermal cut-out to
control the heating elements. The thermostat detects the air temperature and
controls the heat output of the appliance. The fan motor is not controlled by this
thermostat and it continues working when the thermostat switches off the heating
element. The self-resetting thermal cut-out will switch off the heater to prevent
overheating.

There is an additional thermostat to control the fan motor. If the

temperature inside heater is high, and the heater is connected to the power supply,
the thermostat may cause the fan to continue to run independently of the heat
selector dial setting. For example, after heating operation, when the heater is
turned off, the fan motor will continue to operate to reduce the temperature inside
the unit.

2.2

When using  the heater for the first time, you may notice  a slight emission of

smoke. This is quite normal and it will stop after a short time. The heating element
is  made  of  stainless  steel  which  was  coated  with  a  protective  oil  during
manufacturing. The smoke is caused by the residual protective oil when the heater
is switched on for the first time.
