are no abnormal twists in the harness (Fig. 6.3). Adjust the shoulder straps using
the adjustment buckles (Fig. 4), until the harness achieves a snug fit over the body,
without being too tight. It is recommended that the straps of the shoulder harness,
once adjusted, stick out at least 5 cm beyond the adjustment buckle (Fig. 6.2).
5.2 Combining.
The chest harness must be connected obligatorily to the harness
type C through the attachment points foreseen for this use. For the regulation of
the harness type C refer to the relevant instructions for use. To tie in to the rope it
is recommended to use the figure of 8 knot shown in the picture (Fig. 6.2).
Atten-
tion!
It is important to check regularly the buckles and/or the adjustment devices
during the use.
Attention!
Before use, it is necessary to carry out a hanging test
in a safe environment, in order to ensure that the harness has the correct size, it
owns the possibility of a suitable adjustment and an acceptable comfortability
level for the intended use.
Attention!
Do not use different attachment points than
the indicated ones.
5.3 - Techniques.
The shoulder harness can be used in mountaineering activities,
for the belay techniques, abseiling, Via Ferrata routes, etc.
Attention!
Before each
use, pre-arrange a suitable rescue plan that could be executed in a safe and
efficient way.
Attention!
When using a belay device (e.g. an ATC, figure of 8
etc.) this must be connected obligatorily to the harness type C, in accordance with
what is stated in the relevant instructions for use.
Attention!
It is not recommended
to use a high tie in point when traversing glaciers or, more generally, for the
progression in unprotected areas, because this could make it difficult to hold the
climbing partner in case of a fall.
