Ignition Coil and Flywheel

CAUTION
• The flywheel nut has right-hand threads. Turn it clockwise to tighten, or counterclockwise to loosen.
• Do not damage the fan blades with the strap wrench. Do not place screwdriver or pry bar in the
fan blades.

Remove the flywheel with a puller (CCI P/N 1016627).

Remove the flywheel key from its groove.

FLYWHEEL INSTALLATION
1.
Insert the flywheel key into the keyway in the crankshaft. Then align the keyway in the flywheel to the key and
push the flywheel and fan assembly onto the crankshaft until it seats. Install flat washer and nut finger tight.
2.
Use a strap wrench (3) to keep the flywheel and fan assembly (1) from turning while tightening the flywheel nut to
63 ft-lb (85.4 N·m)

CAUTION

• Be careful not to damage the fan blades. Use a strap wrench to hold flywheel. Do not place screwdriver
or pry bar between fan blades.
3.
Install the fan housing and tighten the screws to 90 in-lbs (10 N·m).
