Using multi-grade oils (5W-20, 10W-30, and 10W-40) may increase oil consumption. If multi-grade oil is used, check
the oil level more frequently.

SPARK PLUGS
SPARK PLUG CLEANING AND INSPECTION
1.
Carefully pull the plug wire from the spark plug and remove the spark plug.
2.
If the plug is oily or has carbon built up on it, clean the plug using a high flash-point solvent and a wire brush or
other suitable tool.
3.
If the spark plug electrodes are corroded or damaged, or if the insulator is cracked, replace the plug with an
OEM replacement.

SPARK PLUG GAP INSPECTION
1.
Measure the gap with a wire-type thickness gauge.
2.
If the gap is incorrect, carefully bend the side electrode with a suitable tool to obtain the correct gap.

Spark Plug Gap: 0.030 in. (0.75 mm)
GEARCASE LUBRICATION
NOTE:
Dispose of used oil according to the environmental laws and regulations for your area.
LUBRICATION LEVEL CHECK FOR FRONT DIFFERENTIAL, TRANSMISSION, AND REAR
DIFFERENTIAL
Each gearcase component is equipped with two oil port plugs (1 and 2)
(Figure 10-18, Figure 10-19, and Figure
. When the vehicle is on a level surface, use the level indicator hole (upper plug) (1) as a lubricant level indicator.
Lubricant level should be even with the bottom of level indicator hole (1).
NOTE:
For 2012 and newer vehicles, do not use the fill hole in the rear differential as a lubricant level indicator.
