Secure the fuel line probe clamp to the clean area of the fuel injector line
.

Secure the negative (–) line clamp to the negative (–) battery post

Secure the diesel probe to the tachometer

NOTE:
It will be necessary to cut the wire attached to the adjustment screws. The manufacturer recommends that a
new wire be secured to the screws after new RPM settings are established.
6.
Turn the key switch to start and run the engine at idle. Measure the RPM with the tachometer and diesel probe
attachment. Note the RPM reading. The correct idle RPM setting for this diesel engine is 1250 RPM ± 25.
7.
Turn the key switch OFF. Turn the low-speed adjustment screw 1/4 turn clockwise to raise the RPM, or
counterclockwise to lower the RPM
8.
Turn the key switch to start the engine and allow it to idle. Measure the RPM. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the idle
RPM is correct.
