Park Brake Pedal
ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLIES
PARK BRAKE PEDAL

PARK BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY REMOVAL – BELL CRANK SYSTEM
1.
Disconnect battery.
See Disconnecting the Battery – Gasoline/Diesel Vehicles, Section 1, Page 1-3.
2.
Remove the driver side cup holder to access the E-clip and washer securing the cable end to the park brake
pedal assembly.
3.
Remove the E-clip, washer and cable end from the pedal bracket stud.
4.
Remove the three bolts and locknuts that secure both the park brake pedal assembly and the pulley mounting
plate to the front part of the vehicle frame.
5.
Remove the park brake pedal assembly from the vehicle.

PARK BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION – BELL CRANK SYSTEM
1.
If installing a used assembly, be sure to use a small, stiff brush to remove all dirt and debris from the ratchet
teeth
2.
Secure the pulley mounting plate and park brake pedal assembly with three bolts and locknuts. Tighten the
hardware to 15 ft-lb (20 N·m).
3.
Install the cable end on the pedal bracket stud and secure with washer and E-clip.
4.
Connect battery.

5.
Adjust the brake cable equalizer.
See Front Park Brake Cable Adjustment – Cable Only System on page 6-28.
PARK BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY REMOVAL – CABLE ONLY SYSTEM
1.
Disconnect battery.
See Disconnecting the Battery – Gasoline/Diesel Vehicles, Section 1, Page 1-3.
2.
Remove the driver side cup holder to access the cable end at the park brake pedal assembly.
