FORWARD/REVERSE CONTROL
The Forward/Reverse handle is located on the seat support panel
(Figure 5, Page 13)
. The handle has
three distinct positions:
F
(forward),
N
(neutral), and
R
(reverse). Rotate the handle towards the driver,
F
(for-
ward), to operate the vehicle in the FORWARD direction, or towards the passenger,
R
(reverse), to operate
the vehicle in REVERSE. All 1999 Carryall vehicles operate at reduced speed in REVERSE.
• For Carryall I, Carryall II and Carryall Turf II:
When the handle is in the straight up, or
N
(neutral)
position, the vehicle will not run.
• For Carryall II Plus and VI:
The engine will idle while in NEUTRAL.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL
The accelerator pedal is the pedal on the right, with the word
GO
molded into it
(Figure 6, Page 13)
.
BRAKE PEDAL
The brake pedal is the large pedal on the left with the word
STOP
molded into it
(Figure 6, Page 13)
. To slow
or stop the vehicle, depress the brake pedal
(Figure 7, Page 14)

THE OPERATION OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DIFFERS FROM THAT OF AN AUTOMOBILE.
FOR CARRYALL I, CARRYALL II AND CARRYALL TURF II:
WHEN THE KEY SWITCH IS
ON
, AND
THE FORWARD/REVERSE HANDLE IS IN EITHER
FORWARD
OR
REVERSE
, DEPRESSING THE
ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL AUTOMATICALLY RELEASE THE PARK BRAKE AND START THE
VEHICLE MOVING IN THE DIRECTION SELECTED (
FORWARD
OR
REVERSE
).
FOR CARRYALL II
PLUS AND CARRYALL VI:
THE ENGINE MUST FIRST BE RUNNING BEFORE SHIFTING THE
FORWARD/REVERSE HANDLE AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. AS THE
ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, SPEED WILL INCREASE UNTIL FULL SPEED IS
REACHED. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED:
-
CARRYALL I, CARRYALL II AND CARRYALL TURF II VEHICLES: POWER WILL BE CUT OFF
AND THE ENGINE WILL STOP RUNNING.

CARRYALL II PLUS AND CARRYALL VI VEHICLES: THE ENGINE WILL IDLE.
