WARNING
• When servicing the vehicle with part of the vehicle on jack stands, do not operate the engine
with the Forward/Reverse handle in either the FORWARD or REVERSE position. The all-wheel
drive system will engage any wheel(s), front or rear, with traction. See Figure 2 on page 9.
• The diameter of all tires on the vehicle must be equal; otherwise the all-wheel drive system
will not operate as intended and could result in severe personal injury or death. Never install
tires of different diamters on the vehicle.
Under most circumstances the driver will not need to do anything to engage the AWD system; however, the
front differential may become locked (rotate at the same speed regardless of the terrain) under certain condi-
tions. If the front differential becomes locked, drive slowly in reverse for at least 10 feet (3 meters), then brake
gently.

• Reduced steering control can occur if the front differential becomes locked. To help prevent
this condition, avoid extremely hard braking in reverse.
STOPPING THE VEHICLE
To stop the vehicle, release the accelerator pedal and press the brake pedal until the vehicle comes to a com-
plete stop.

WARNING
• Driving through water may affect the brakes. After driving through water, check effectiveness
of the brakes by gently pressing the brake pedal. If the vehicle does not slow down at the
normal rate, continue to press the brake pedal until the brakes dry out and normal
performance returns.

CAUT ION
• When stopped on a hill, use the brake pedal to hold your position. Do not use the accelerator
pedal to hold position.
PARKING AND LEAVING THE VEHICLE
1. After stopping the vehicle, firmly set park brake. Make sure it is fully engaged. This will prevent the vehi-
cle from rolling.
2. Push the joystick forward to lower the attachment arm fully to the ground.
3. Turn the key switch to the OFF position, remove the key, and place the Forward/Reverse handle in the
NEUTRAL position.
