Figure 9 – Page 4
– Switch the motor off (
).
– Unscrew and remove the motor oil filling screw
(11). The oil dipstick is affixed to the motor oil fill-
ing screw (11).
– Clean the oil dipstick with a cloth.
– Replace the motor oil filling screw (11) with the
dipstick, but screw into place.
– Unscrew the motor oil filling screw (11) with the
dipstick, and remove.
– Check the oil level.
– The oil level should reach to the upper marking
(A) on the dipstick. If the oil level has dropped
below the lower threshold marking (B), slowly
refill until the level has reached the upper mark-
ing on the dipstick. Do not fill too high.
– Check the seal of the motor oil filling screw (11)
for damages and clean if necessary.
– Immediately replace damaged seals!
– Replace the motor oil filling screw (11) and
tighten by hand.
Cleaning/replacing spark plugs
Figure 10 – Page 5
– Remove spark plug connector (9) and the spark
plug (20).
– Check the electrode for discolouration.
Standard colour: light brown
– Check electrode spacing.
Correct spacing:
Cleaning the spark plug
– Remove sooty deposits from the electrode with
a wire brush.
Inserting the spark plug
– Insert the cleaned or new spark plug (20) and
tighten by hand.
– Now tighten the hand-screwed spark plug (20)
using a spark plug wrench and turning it one
quarter turn. Do not overtighten the spark plug
(20) because this may damage the thread.
– Fit the spark plug connector (9) back on the plug
firmly.
Clean the fuel filter
Figure 1 – Page 3
– Unscrew the tank lid (2) and remove.
– Remove and clean the filter and replace if dam-
aged.
– Rub to dry the filter.
– Replace the sieve and screw the tank lid (2) back
into place.
Storage, transportation
Storage
– Allow the device to cool down.
– Store the device in a dry and well ventilated
place.
– Store the device horizontally.
– Clean the device completely (
When taken out of operation (3 months or long-
er)
– Empty the tank.
– Start the engine and allow it to run until the
engine switches itself off (
– Allow for the motor to cool down (approx. 5 min.)
– Remove the spark plug (
– Allow a teaspoon of fresh motor oil to trickle into
the combustion chamber.
– Gently pull the starter cord several times in order
to coat the internal components with the oil.
CAUTION! Device damage!
Only use
wire brushes with brass bristles to clean
the spark plug. Any other bristle type will
damage the electrode!
CAUTION! Device damage!
Only screw a
spark plug into place when the motor is
cold.
WARNING! Risk of injury!
Before any storage or transport:
– Switch the motor off.
– Allow the device to cool down.
– Pull out the spark plug connector.
CAUTION! Device damage!
The device
must be stored at a frost-protected loca-
tion.
CAUTION! Device damage!
If you are
intending to store the device for an
extended period of time, remove the fuel
from the device. This prevents the motor
from resinifying.
