General safety instructions
• For safe handling of the product, the user must
have read and understood the instructions for
use before using it for the first time.
• Observe all safety instructions! If you do not
observe the safety instructions you will endanger
yourself and others.
• The product may be used only when in a fault-
less condition. If the product or a part of it is
defective, it must be repaired by OBI Service.
• Danger of poisoning due to exhaust fumes! Do
not start the motor or use the product in enc-
losed spaces.
• The immediate environment must be free of
flammable and combustible substances.
• Operate the sprayer on a stable, even surface.
• Never operate the sprayer in the rain or when it
is snowing.
• Never touch the sprayer with wet hands.
• Protect the product from hard shocks! Do not let
it fall!
If the product has been subjected to shocks,
check immediately whether fuel is leaking (dan-
ger of fire and explosion!).
• Check the fuel system for leaks or defective
parts on a regular basis.
• Always switch off the motor before transporting,
refuelling, cleaning and maintaining.
• Carefully remove overflowing fuel without delay.
• Only the maintenance work and trouble shooting
activities described here may be carried out. All
other work must be carried out by OBI Service.
• Conversions, unauthorized modifications and
the use of non-approved parts are prohibited.
• Use only genuine spare parts. Only these spare
parts are designed and suitable for the product.
The use of other spare parts not only invalidates
the warranty, it also presents a danger to your-
self and your environment.
• The earthing chain must always be fitted and
have contact with the ground. This prevents sta-
tic discharging from the product and protects
the user from electric shocks.
For handling chemicals
• Store chemicals out of children's reach.
• Carefully read through the instructions for using
the chemicals and familiarised yourself with the
degree of toxicity, application methods etc.
• Wear safety shoes, safety clothing and breathing
protection during each application.
• Always wash your hands thoroughly after wor-
king with chemicals.
• Pull the cover tight after refilling with chemicals.
Otherwise the cover can come loose while
spraying, allowing chemicals to escape.
• After each working operation, check you feel
generally well. Seek immediate medical attention
if you feel unwell or have skin irritations.
• Always thoroughly clean the sprayer after use.
• After use, spray using clean water to remove
chemical residues from the pipe system.
• To avoid contact with chemicals, always wear
suitable safety clothing every time you work with
this product.
• The operator should be familiar with the handling
of chemicals.
• Avoid working with the product and chemicals
for prolonged periods.
• Have regular health check-ups if you carry out
spraying work for long periods of time.
Safety when spraying
• Make sure you have a firm stance when spray-
ing.
• Be aware of the wind direction when spraying
and stand on the upwind side to avoid spraying
yourself with chemicals.
• Never work overhead.
• Always hold the handle firmly when spraying and
ensure that the nozzle does not point towards
people or animals.
For handling fuels
Fuels are flammable and explosive. Minimise the
risk of explosion and fire:
• Before refuelling, switch off the motor and let it
cool down.
• Smoking and naked flames are prohibited while
handling fuels.
• Only store and mix fuels in approved and
marked canisters.
• Seal fuel canisters before storing. Fuels evapo-
rate even at room temperature and can collect
on the floor in closed rooms (risk of explosion).
• Start the product at least nine metres away from
where it was fuelled.
Fuels are toxic! They contain substances that are
highly toxic and can cause long-term health da-
mage. Heed the precautions to stop these subs-
tances from being absorbed into your body:
• Only top up outdoors or decant fuel in well-ven-
tilated rooms.
• Do not inhale fuel vapours.
• Avoid skin and eye contact.
• Wear gloves when decanting fuel.
