1. STEREO REMOTE CONTROL
(standard on
dash, transom mount, optional) - This panel
provides remote control of the stereo system from
the helm.
2. CLUSTER GAUGE (port engine) -
The ignition
switch must be in the RUN position to activate the
gauge.
Fuel -
Measures approximate level of fuel in tank.
Since the accuracy of your gauge varies with the
attitude of your Cobalt boat, and the fuel pickup
tube cannot withdraw all fuel out of the tank, please
observe the One Third Rule. Use one third of your
fuel to go out, one third to come back and one third
as a reserve.
Voltmeter -
Indicates the condition of the engine’s
cranking battery in volts DC. With the ignition switch
on and the engine not running, a reading between
11.5 and 12.5 volts indicates a fully charged
battery. With the engine running at idle, the gauge
should read between 10 and 12 volts. With the
engine running at cruising speeds and above, it
should show 12 to 14 volts. See your authorized
Cobalt dealer and have the charging system
checked if the voltmeter reads below these normal
ranges.
TEMP (Engine Water Temperature Gauge) -
Indicates the water/coolant temperature inside the
engine. Refer to the engine operator’s manual for
normal operating temperature. After starting the
engine, check your temperature gauge for
abnormally high readings. If the reading is outside
the manufacturer’s operating range, immediately
turn off the engine. An abnormally high
temperature is the result of cooling water system
blockage. See your authorized Cobalt dealer when
experiencing a high engine temperature reading.
Oil Pressure -
Measures the pressure of the
engine’s lubricating oil, in pounds per square inch
(PSI). Refer to the engine operator’s manual for
correct specifications.
Many serious engine problems are reflected on oil
pressure gauge readings. If the pressure is lower
than the manufacturer’s specification, immediately
shut off the engine. Have your authorized Cobalt
dealer correct the problem before operating the
engine.
3. CLUSTER GAUGE (starboard engine) -
Monitors the same functions as the port cluster
gauge except without the fuel gauge.
4. HORN -
This switch activates the horn. Press the
switch to activate.
COCKPIT LIGHTS -
This switch provides
illumination within the cockpit.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT LIGHTS -
This switch
provides illumination within the engine
compartment.
DOCKING LIGHTS (Optional) -
This switch
operates the docking lights.
Docking lights are to be used for docking only. It is
illegal to use your docking lights while cruising.
CAPT CALL (Captain's Call) (Optional) -
This
switch determines the routing of the engine
exhaust. In the ON position, engine exhaust is
routed through the thru-hull pipes. This position
produces the most engine power, but is not
acceptable near shore or on inland lakes and rivers.
In the OFF position, engine exhaust is routed
through the hub of the propeller. This position
releases the exhaust underwater, providing a
quieter engine sound.
Be sure to check local regulations regarding noise
restrictions before operating this system.
BILGE BLOWER -
This switch activates the engine
compartment ventilation blower to remove
explosive fumes from the area. The blower must be
operated for a minimum of four minutes each time
before starting the engine. In addition, the blower
should be operated continuously when at idle or
running at slow speeds.
INDICATOR LEDS -
The LEDs will illuminate if the
switch is ON.
CAUTION
Avoid damage to the exhaust system.
DO NOT switch the exhaust above 3,000
RPM.
