If speech is unclear, soft or too noisy:
Check headset.
Check segment meter by talking into the microphone. If there are
less than five segments showing, the speech may be too soft. Try
turning up the sensitivity or ask the speaker to speak up!
If the segment meter shows more than eight segments, try to reduce
noise in the environment. Decrease the sensitivity. It may also be
necessary to change the volume.
If the processor gets wet
If the processor is dropped in water, remove battery compartment
and return to implant centre.
If it is damp, remove the battery compartment and put it in the
pouch supplied with the dry pack. If you need more chemicals for
the dry pack, they are available from pharmacies. Leave it in the
pouch overnight and the dry pack will absorb the excess moisture.
