Before initial use
1. Read the
Safety
section below.
2. Remove all packaging and ensure that there are no foreign objects remaining
inside the toaster.
3. Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a damp cloth.
4. Make sure that the crumb tray is pushed all the way in and that the toasting lever
is fully raised.
5. Connect the mains lead to a 230 V power point.
6. Set the browning control to level
1
.
7. Depress the toasting lever without having put any bread into the slots.
The toaster might emit a small amount of smoke as the manufacturing residue is
burned off; this is quite normal and will stop as the heating elements get hotter.
8. Repeat points 6 and 7 a few times.

Safety
• This product must not be used by anyone (including children) suffering from
physical or mental impairment. This product should not be used by anyone that
has not read the instruction manual unless they have been instructed in its use by
someone who will take responsibility for their safety.
• Never let children play with the toaster.
• Place the toaster on a flat, non-flammable surface and out of children’s reach.
Make sure that there is adequate space above and on all sides for air circulation.
• Do not touch any other parts of the toaster other than its controls as it becomes
hot during use.
• Always unplug the lead from the power point and let the toaster cool down
before handling it.
• Never place the toaster close to or under flammable material such as curtains.
• Do not place the toaster where there is a risk of it falling into water or
other types of liquid.
