Belts Forward of Seat Bight
Vehicle seat belts located forward of seat bight

may not securely hold car seat.
Check vehicle owner’s manual or see vehicle
dealer for car seat installation requirements.

If vehicle owner’s manual approves seating
position for use with car seat, install car seat
and check for secure installation by pulling
car seat front to back. If car seat slides
forward or vehicle seat belt does not stay
tight, DO NOT use these seat belts.

Combination Lap/Shoulder Belt with Free Sliding Latch Plate
Pull out on latch plate. If belt slides freely
through latch plate

device MUST be used to secure the lap belt
when tightly secured around the base.
For use with Base:
Pull lap belt tight around base and slide
shoulder belt into Shoulder Belt Lock-off at
front corner of Base

For use without Base:
A Locking Clip must be used to secure the lap
belt. See “Locking Clip” section.
Some vehicles have lap and shoulder belts
with free sliding latch plate that can be
converted into an “automatic locking” mode.
Always use one of the locking devices above
with these belt systems.
