UNVENTED OPERATION
Although the
OMEGA II
®
units are approved for un-vented
operation, THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDED OPTION. The
reason being that when the products of combustion are
discharged into the heating space, ventilation of this
heating space is required. For proper ventilation, code
requires that a positive air displacement of 4 CFM per 1000
BTU/Hr input of gas input be provided for insulated
buildings. We recommend that 8 CFM per 1000 BTU/Hr
input be used for un-insulated buildings. This air
displacement should be done mechanically and interlocked
with the burners. This will insure that both the heaters and
the ventilation operate simultaneously.
DO NOT USE UNVENTED SYSTEMS IN AGRICULTURAL
APPLICATIONS.
NOTE:
Install exhaust vent on motor side of burner assembly.
Installation on combustion air inlet side can result in burner
pulsation and back firing.
A “U” tube system is shown above. The vent terminal MUST be installed on the motor side of the burner assembly. DO NOT
install the vent terminal on the combustion air inlet side. Installation on combustion air inlet side can result in burner pulsation
and back firing.
