4.3.4.
Switching from the normal operation mode to the Service Bypass mode
The procedures described below allow the UPS to transfer from normal operation to
maintenance bypass mode (Maintenance Bypass mode).
Warning
Before performing the procedure below, make sure that the voltage and frequency
parameters of the bypass line are correct and that the inverter is synchronized to the bypass
voltage. Meeting these conditions guarantees uninterrupted switching of loads to the bypass
supply.
1. Switch the UPS to Bypass mode as instructed in chapter 4.3.2.
The UPS works in Bypass mode, the UPS inverter is turned off.
4. Remove the Maintenance bypass breaker cover located on the rear of the UPS, and switch the
disconnector to the Bypass position. The load will be powered by the bypass line. Open the rectifier and
Bypass disconnectors as well as the output and battery disconnect switch located outside the UPS.
Warning
If it is necessary to open the UPS casing, e.g. during inspection works, wait at least 10 minutes
until the DC capacitors inside the module discharge.
4.3.5.
Switching from the Service Bypass mode to normal operation
The procedure described below allows the UPS to transfer from Bypass to Normal operation.
1. Close the Output breaker and the input bypass breaker.
The Bypass LED will turn green.
2. Turn the Maintenance bypass breaker to the UPS position.
3. Re-install the Maintenance bypass breaker securing plate to prevent accidental use.
4. Turn on the rectifier input breaker (Input breaker).
After about 30 seconds, start the inverter according to the procedure described in section 4.3.3
5. Close the battery disconnect switch located inside or outside the UPS. The battery LED will
turn off.
4.4.
Procedure of complete disconnection of the power supply (power supply to the loads
through a mechanical bypass)
To completely switch off the UPS and the powered receivers, perform the procedure 4.3.4
switching to the Maintenance Bypass mode, and then disconnect the power from the UPS in
the distribution board.
4.5.
EPO emergency shutdown
The UPS emergency shutdown button is located on the front panel of the UPS and is used for
emergency shutdown in the event of flooding, fire, etc. Using the EPO switch immediately turns
off the rectifier, inverter and disconnects the UPS output voltage and stops the battery charging
or discharging process.
