To install a processor power module and a Pentium III Xeon processor in the
Processor and Memory Module, refer to one of the following installation
sources:
■
For a text and illustrated procedure, refer to the documentation provided
with the option kit.
■
For an illustrated overview of the procedure, refer to the Hardware
Installation and Configuration poster included in the shipping box or to
the Processor board configuration label located on the left side of the
Processor and Memory Module.

For an overview of processor installation, see the procedure below.
1.
If the server is on, place it in Standby. See Chapter 2, “Server
Installation.”
2.
Remove the Processor and Memory module. See Chapter 3, “Server
Operation.”
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the
internal system components to cool before touching them.
3.
Locate the first available processor socket adjacent to an installed
processor. Available sockets will have a processor terminator board
installed.
