Replace the memory expansion board and Processor and Memory
module by reversing steps 1 through 3.

Turn on the server. See Chapter 2, “Server Installation.”

If the server does not power up, verify that system interlock LEDs are
normal. See Table 3-2, “System Interconnect Status Indicators” in
Chapter 3, “Server Operation.”

Verify that the memory was installed correctly by reviewing the POST
messages on the system console or memory information under the
System Information Menu of the IMD. See Chapter 6, “Integrated
Management Log.”
Mass Storage
The following sections provide overviews for installing hard disk drives,
CD-ROM drives, and external storage devices.
The ProLiant 8500 supports up to four 1-inch, Ultra2, Single Connector
Assembly (SCA), hot-plug hard drives.
The server ships with the media module occupied by a diskette drive and
slimline CD-ROM drive. An Integrated Management Display (IMD) is
included on some models.
