FORSEEABLE MISUSE AND MISOPERATION

There are several ways in which the

Compax One

may be affected as a result of being

improperly used or operated. Events that may affect the
Compax One

 is described in brief below:

IMPROPER INSTALLATION

Installation of the Compax One

in an angle with the wall

may lead to erroneous sensor readings of the lid position.
This either occurs due to the back wall of the appliance not
being flush with the washroom wall or because the
appliance is not levelled properly in the vertical direction.
Hence, precise, accurate and safe positioning of the
rotating lid may not be guaranteed.

LEANING, HANGING, OR CLIMBING

Never

allow anyone to climb, hang, lean or sit on or in the

Compax One

.

Loading of the appliance and the fasteners

attaching it to the wall beyond what they are designed to
withstand may lead to loosening and result in damage of
the appliance and the wall. The door and bag holder device
are especially susceptible to break during such unintended
loading.

If the Compax One

loosens or drops to the floor, there is a

risk that the power cable may break as well, which
consequently can short circuit or in worst case expose
people or animals in the vicinity of the appliance to live
current.

INCORRECT LOADING

Sharp and pointy items may lead to puncture of the waste
bag and consequently worsen the Compax One

performance. Also, sharp and pointy items may cause harm
or injuries due to protrusion through the waste bag during
bag change or transportation.

Hot or burning items may lead to fire inside the Compax
One

which further may cause harm or injuries. Another

outcome is that the hot or burning items may possibly melt
hole(s) in the waste bag, consequently, worsen the Compax
One

 performance.

Flammable items may lead to easy ignition and
consequently fire inside the Compax One

.

Explosive items may lead to dangerous situations where the
vacuum can cause an explosion. Also, explosion hazards
may occur during further transportation and processing of
the waste.

Toxic items or substances may lead to poisoning of people,
animals, and other organisms in the vicinity of the Compax
One

.

Corrosive items or substances may lead to harm or injuries
of objects, people, animals, or other organisms in the
vicinity of the Compax One

.

6

The default timeout limit is set to 9.0 seconds but is configurable based on customer needs.

7

To exit the stationary state, a system reboot must be performed.

NOTE: Consult with Compax Solutions Customer Service before performing system reboot

.

Overloading of the Compax One

 may lead to overflowing

waste and unhygienic surroundings. Also, in the case where
the waste is jammed between the moving lid and the
gasket, proper performance is not guaranteed. Lastly, if the
waste is heavily compacted, stiff, or not especially
compressible, the lid safety function may trigger and hinder
completion of compression cycles.

Too much liquid or water may lead to suffocation of the
suction device or potentially cause the liquid or water to be
sucked through the system and ultimately spread inside the
bottom container of the Compax One

, in which case clean

up might be necessary.

Organisms, animals, or people loaded in the Compax One

may lead to injury, harm or even death due to suffocation.
Under

NO

circumstances should any animal or human being

be loaded into the Compax One

.

VANDALISM

Beating, kicking, punching, or bumping into the Compax
One

may lead to broken parts and sub-assemblies which

consequently may worsen the performance of the
appliance. Furthermore, the aesthetics may be negatively
affected. In extreme cases the Compax One

 may suffer

the consequence of detaching from the wall or even drop
to the floor due to breakage of the attachment means or
the wall itself.

If the attachment means break and the Compax One

detaches or drops to the floor, there is a risk of breakage of
the power cable as well, which may short circuit or in worst
case expose people or animals in the vicinity of the
appliance to live current.

OBSTRUCTION OR JAMMING OF ROTATING LID

If an object is placed in the space for which the rotating lid
moves, this may cause damage to the appliance and
ultimately lead to malfunction.

Constant triggering of the safety system

 may negatively

affect the Compax One

 performance.

Conscious hindering of the rotating motion of the lid by
approaching the Compax One

 during a compression cycle

may cause damage to the appliance and ultimately lead to
malfunction.

NOTE:

If the obstruction does not cause the lid motion to

be aborted and reversed due to an abnormal or abrupt
resistance, it will try and continue closing. However, if the
time the lid uses to reach the closed configuration exceeds
the predetermined timeout limit,

6

 the Compax One

 will

enter a stationary state in order not to cause harm on
neither appliance nor personnel.
