Pre-Backup Setting
Add a Backup Directory
You can manually back up ComproView® database or arrange ComproView® to perform daily or weekly
routine backup automatically. But in order to arrange an automatic backup operation, you need to add a
backup directory to ComproView® system beforehand. To do so:
1. Click on the “Setup” icon located in the system panel (represented by a wrench
). Then select “Setup”
from the fly-out menu. And the system configuration console will come up.
2. Go to the “Storage” tab. After that, press [Add Backup] in the Option section.
3. A "Browse For Folder" window pops up. Select a folder destination that will be used to store
ComproView® video archives. Then click [OK].
4. Click [OK] again to exit the system configuration console. After that, this folder destination will be the
default backup destination when you attempt to schedule a backup operation.

Add a Backup Schedule Setting (For Scheduled Backup)
If you plan to
schedule a backup operation
in ComproView®, besides defining a system backup directory
in advance, you also need to first create a backup schedule setting using the backup console. And after
that go to the Schedule tab in the system configuration console and schedule a backup time. So when the
scheduled backup time arrives, ComproView® runs the backup in accordance with your backup setting.
In the backup console, you may add more than one backup schedule setting. At the appointed time,
ComproView® runs all backup schedule settings.
To add a backup schedule setting, first bring up the backup console (by clicking
) and then:
1. Press the [Schedule] button in the Settings section.
2. Enter a number in the "Day(s)" field to determine how many days of data generated prior to the
appointed backup time will be backed up by ComproView®. Then, set the backup time range for each
day in the past.
3. Enter a name for the schedule setting.
