Patching scrollers
Scrollers are usually mounted on a conventional light fixture. Channels with scrollers use 2 DMX
channels; one channel that controls the fixture’s dimmer and a second DMX channel that controls
the scroller mounted on the fixture. It is necessary to select only the fixture’s channel number to
access the dimmer and the scroller. The device list contains 4 channel/scroller devices:
Ch+Scrl 11F(rames)
Ch+Scrl 16F(rames)
Ch+Scrl 20F(rames)
Ch+Scrl 32F(rames)
The scroller is patched as an external dimmer. Of course, the patched DMX address must match the
local address set on the scroller.
To patch scrollers using the wizard

Enter the number of channels in the
Set no. of Chns [to add]
field.

Choose a scroller device: Ch+Scrl 11F, Ch+Scrl 16F, Ch+Scrl 20F, or Ch+Scrl 32F.

Select the scrollers by tapping their cells on the touch screen.

Navigate to the address for the first scroller and tap that cell.

Sequential DMX addresses, starting from the DMX start address, are set for the selected
scrollers.
IMPORTANT!
The scroller’s local address and its patched DMX address must be
identical.

Setting DMX addresses. Use this when soft patching (patching more than one dimmer to a
fixture number), patching scrollers, patching external dimmers.
