Overview
Xicom digitally controlled devices monitor their serial ports for incoming
messages and respond to messages as soon as they are verified.
Response time varies, typically ranging between 20 and 100
milliseconds. Although devices will respond to messages with invalid
parameters, they ignore messages with invalid address bytes or check
bytes.

Communication
Digital HPAs
Both rack-mounted and outdoor digital HPAs have a built-in
microprocessor for handling serial communications. With the exception of
the Prime Power Switch, all operation of digital HPAs can be completely
controlled via the serial interface (RS-232/RS-485 and Ethernet).
Compatibility
Three serial hardware interfaces (RS-232, RS-422/485 and Ethernet) are
available for the control link.
