Figure 8 - Manual / Automatic Mode
Manual / Automatic Mode
Touching the automatic button displays the confirmation screen for enabling automatic
switchover. The one for one system will perform several operations when operating in
automatic mode. Upon sensing a fault in the ON-line amplifier the back-up amplifier
will:
1.
Switch the waveguide switch to put itself in the online position.
2.
Turn on high voltage to enable transmit mode.
3.
Enable RF (disable RF inhibits).
Special Note on Manual/Automatic Syncronization:
The Manual/Automatic mode select need only be selected on one amplifier. The amplifiers when
configured in a system will continuously maintain continuity off this mode in both amplifiers. The way
this is accomplished is by:
1.
The system will synchronize to the mode of the amplifier commanded either by the local
panel input or via the remote interface. In the event of a power failure the mode entered
last by either amplifier will be the mode restored.
2.
Should the system be powered down and an amplifier replaced again, the mode that was
“set” last in either amplifier will be the mode restored. Should there be a conflict in this
scenario the system will revert to manual mode for safety purposes.
