Ethernet Configuration
The next two setup screens are used for configuring the Ethernet interface.
•
DHCP vs Static IP
– Xicom will factory set any single thread amplifiers for DHCP
enabling connection to a customer’s network and allowing the router to assign
an available address. Amplifiers configured for M&C operation will typically
require IP addresses. In Xicom redundant systems the amplifiers must
communicate with each other. In some cases this is facilitated using a Xicom
supplied Ethernet hub.
Note:
When configuring the amplifiers for system operation it is important to leave the
Ethernet configured for fixed IP unless connecting to a DHCP server.
•
IP address, Net-mask, and Gateway – This is used for selecting the IP
address for use with the amplifier. Touch button and enter address with
numeric keypad. When using DHCP the net-mask and gateway are
automatically assigned and don’t require operator input.
RS232
This screen allows for configuration of the RS-232 (COM 1) interface on the rear panel.
Xicom serial RS232 and RS485 interfaces support up to 57.6K baud.
