Using the Front Panel
HE4000 Encoding System
3.4.2 Arrows
A right arrow will often display on the LCD Display as the HE4000 parameters are navigated.
This arrow indicates that there are additional items available in that parameter list.
3.4.3 Asterisk
While the HE4000 is executing a command or setting a parameter option, an asterisk (*) appears
on the LCD Display, indicating that the HE4000 is processing information. When the asterisk
disappears, the process is complete.
3.4.4 Equal Sign
Most parameters, though not all, can be modified in order to configure the HE4000. Configurable
parameters are followed by an equal sign, denoting that the parameter can be modified.
3.4.5 Colon
There are some parameters that are either automatically set for the system or that are query-only
parameters. A colon follows these type of parameters. When a colon follows a parameter, that
parameter can be viewed but not changed.
3.5 LCD Text Formats
All menus, parameter options, and system information are displayed on the front panel LCD.
3.5.1 Menus
All menus are displayed in the following format:
HE4000/Service/HD Video/Input
2/3
->
Source = Stationary HD Test Pattern
•
The first line identifies the current menu level. This example shows the Service menu.
•
The second line identifies the selected menu option.
•
The 2/3 indicates that you are currently on the second item of three available choices.
•
The arrow, when displayed, signifies that there are additional menu options available at
that level.
