Because a different cutting edge is used in
each setting, the taper lever lengthens the
life of your blades.
Packed-in hair can slow down any clipper.
To remove hair without removing the
blades, use your cleaning brush to brush
hair out of the blades. This should be done
after each use. When blades are free of hair
put a small amount of oil across them.
CAUTION:
Never pull on the clipper cord.
Never twist or wrap the cord around the
clipper. Lay it flat with the cord coiled up
when not in use.

ADJUSTABLE TAPER LEVER
Just like professional clippers, the Conair
taper lever is positioned at your thumb.
You can hold the clipper in your hand and
adjust the lever at the same time...while
you’re clipping.
This taper lever eliminates the need for an
attachment comb because it lets you
gradually adjust the closeness of the cut.
For the closest cut and the shortest hair,
push taper lever up as far as it will go. To
increase cutting length, slowly push lever
down. If you push to the lowest position, it
will leave hair about the same length as the
short attachment.
TWO YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Conair will repair or replace (at our option) your
unit free of charge for 24 months from the date of
purchase if the appliance is defective in
workmanship or materials.

For a flat top, use the flat comb, not the
attachment comb. Just cut hair on top of
the head over the flat comb. (see Fig. 2).
To taper hair down to the neckline, use
attachment comb #1. Comb hair and
check for uneven spots. Outline sideburns
and neck areas (see “Outlining”).

ALIGNMENT IS INCORRECT:
MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE
Always apply oil to the blades before, during
and after use. This will ensure maximum
cutting performance. Hold clipper away from
your body in a downward position and apply
oil on the front and sides of the cutter blade.
Wipe excess oil off with a soft dry cloth.
Conair
®
hair clippers are carefully
inspected to insure that the blades are in
perfect alignment. You will need to realign
the blades after removing them for cleaning
or replacement, or if they should be
knocked out of alignment. How can you tell
if the blades need realigning? Simply
comb must cover or be to the extreme left
hand of the first small tooth of the cutter.
*Be sure that the extreme right hand big
tooth of the cutter touches the extreme right
hand tooth of the cutting comb.
Any other servicing should be performed by
an authorized service representative or that
the appliance has no user serviceable parts.
The product is for household use.
Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord
around appliance.
SPECIAL OIL
To maintain the blades of your Conair
®
clipper, oil them after every three or four
haircuts. Gently place a few drops of oil on
the teeth of the blades, using the special
Conair
®
oil included with your set. Turn
the clipper on for a minute, then turn off.
This light, natural oil was formulated
specifically for the Conair
®
high-speed
clipper. Because it is the right oil to use, it
will not slow down the blades. Never use
any other product. There is no substitute
for Conair oil.
POWER SCREW
The power screw permits you to adjust
the power of your clipper. You may need
to adjust it if the power in your house is
low. (The Conair
®
clipper was designed
for household use.)
match them up, point for point, to conform
with the drawing below.
To replace cutting comb and cutter after
removal for cleaning, replacement or,
because they are out of alignment, slide the
cutter back on to the black plastic oscillating
head. Next, you must make sure that the
cutter (small blade) and the cutting comb
(large blade) are properly aligned. Line up
the new or existing cutting comb with the
two screw holes. Place the original screws,
one in each hole, and lightly tighten with a
Phillips head screwdriver.
Then, match the two blades up, point to
point, conforming with the illustration below
in (Fig. 2).
*The top edge of the cutting comb should
be 1/32” to 1/16” (.79 mm. to 1.59 mm.)
higher than the top edge of the cutter. This
is important so that the clipper does not cut
too close, or come in contact with the skin.

LEVIER D’EFFILAGE AJUSTABLE

le levier d’effilage se trouve près du pouce.
On peut tenir la tondeuse de la main et en
ajuster le levier tout en coupant les
cheveux.
Le levier élimine le besoin d’un peigne
accessoire car il permet d’ajuster
graduel-lement le niveau de coupe. Pour
des cheveux très courts (coupe de près),
soulever le levier aussi haut que possible.
Pour des coupes plus longues, rabaisser le
levier lentement. À la position la plus
basse, les cheveux sont à la même
longueur qu’avec le plus petit peigne.

plat et non le peigne de la tondeuse.
Couper les cheveux par-dessus le peigne
(ill. 2). Pour dégrader la nuque, utilisez le
peigne n° 1. Peigner pour voir s’il y a des
inégalités. Découper les favoris et la
nuque (voir « Délignage »).

SI LES LAMES NE SEMBLENT
PAS BIEN ALIGNÉES :
ENTRETIEN DE LA LAME
Toujours huiler les lames avant, pendant et
après l’usage pour assurer un rendement
optimal. Tenir la tondeuse loin du corps,
pointant vers le bas et appliquer de l’huile sur
le devant et les côtés de la lame; essuyer
l’excédent avec un linge propre et doux.
La tondeuse Conair
®
a été soigneusement
inspectée pour assurer le bon alignement
des lames. Il faut les réaligner si on les
enlève pour les nettoyer ou si elles ont été
frappées. Comment savoir si elles sont
hors d’alignement? Apparier tout
simplement les lames, dent pour dent,
comme indiqué sur l’illustration suivante.
*S’assurer que la grosse dent d’extrême
droite du couteau touche la dent d’extrême
droite du peigne.
Tout autre entretien devrait être assuré par
un service après-vente agréé car il n’y a
aucune autre pièce réparable par
l’utilisateur sur la tondeuse. Le produit est
prévu pour l’usage ménager.
Ne pas tirer, tordre ni enrouler le cordon
autour de la tondeuse.
HUILE SPÉCIALE
Pour garder les lames de la tondeuse
Conair
®
en bon état, il faut les huiler à
toutes les trois ou quatre coupes. Placer
quelques gouttes d’huile sur les dents des
lames, utilisant l’huile spéciale Conair
®
fournie. Faire fonctionner la tondeuse une
minute. L’huile naturelle légère est
spécialement conçue pour la tondeuse
Conair
®
haute vitesse. Ne pas utiliser
d’autres huiles car elles peuvent ralentir les
lames. Il n’y a pas de substitut pour l’huile
Conair.
VIS DE PUISSANCE
Cette vis règle la puissance de la
tondeuse. Elle demande un ajustement
si le courant de secteur est faible. (La
tondeuse Conair
®
est conçue pour
l’usage ménager.)
Pour remettre le peigne et le couteau après
un nettoyage, un remplacement ou suite à
un désalignement, glisser le couteau sur la
tête oscillante en plastique noir. S’assurer
ensuite que le couteau et le peigne sont bien
alignés. Aligner le peigne neuf ou existant
avec les deux trous de vis. Placer les vis
dans les orifices et serrer légèrement avec
un tournevis à pointe Phillips.
Apparier ensuite les deux lames, dent pour
dent, comme il est montré sur l’illustration
(fig 2).
*Le bord du peigne doit être 0,7 à 1,5 mm
plus haut que le bord supérieur du couteau.
Ceci est important afin que la tondeuse ne
coupe pas de trop près ni ne touche à la
peau.
*La dent à l’extrême gauche du peigne doit
recouvrir ou se retrouver par-dessus la
première petite dent du couteau.
