ACKNOWLEDGMENT
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
• Never use this appliance in another way than described in this operating manual.
• Remove all packaging and marketing materials from the appliance before you use it for the first time.
Make sure the mains voltage corresponds to the values on the rating plate.
• The appliance is designed for use in a car (voltage supply 12 V , power demand 120 W) where the voltage supply
is typically provided from the cigarette lighter socket. Considering the 120 W (10 A) power demand factor, it is
recommended that the appliance be used while the engine is running. Operating the kettle for long periods while
the engine is stopped may drain the battery.
• The appliance may remain hot for some time after it has shut off. Therefore, do not touch the hot surfaces.
• Do not clean, store or cover the appliance until it has cooled completely.
• Never leave the appliance unattended while it is switched on.
• Never pull the power cord. Grasp and pull the plug, not the cord.
• Do not allow children or unskilled persons to handle the appliance; always use it out of the reach of these
individuals.
• Persons with limited movement abilities, reduced sensory perception, insufficient mental capacity or those who
are unaware of the proper handling should only use the appliance under the supervision of a responsible person
who knows how to use it.
• Take extra care when using the appliance near children.
• Never allow anyone to use the appliance as a toy.
• Use only accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
•
Prior to cleaning and after using the appliance, turn it off, disconnect it from the power socket, and allow
it to cool down.
• Make sure the power cable is not in contact with hot surfaces, is not bent over sharp edges, and is not caught in
other objects.
• Protect the appliance from moisture.
• Make sure there is water in the appliance before it is connected to power.
• The kettle may only be used for heating water up to the recommended maximum level. If the
recommended
maximum level
is exceeded, hot water may splash out.
SCALDING HAZARD!
• Prior to switching the appliance on, make sure the lid is closed properly. To avoid scalding, do not open the lid
during heating.
• Never switch the appliance on without water. If an empty kettle is switched on, the safety fuse will deactivate it
automatically. After that, let the appliance cool down, fill it with cold water and you may use it again.
