full contact and that the polarity of the multiconnector at the
Multimeter is correct. The multiconnector includes: left, the current path
"20 A", half-right the ground connection "COM" and on the far right,
the current path "V/
Ω
". The multiconnector must be connected to the
Multimeter in accordance with the marking.
"20A" in the 20A socket, "COM" in the COM socket and "V/
Ω
" in the V/
Ω
socket.
Important!
Incorrect or faulty connection of the Multimeter may cause irreparable
damage to the Multimeter, adapter or consumer. Potentially lethal
hazard!
To measure the actual power, Cos Phi, kWh price setting and measuring
the kWh proceed as follows:
1. Connect the measurement adapter, as described above, to the mea-
suring device.
2. Set the rotary function switch to the setting "POWER", and then
switch the measuring device and consumer on.
3. The following displays are active in this basic setting: bottom left the
reference number "0" is displayed. Beneath this, the small display on
the left measures current in "A", while that on the right measures AC
voltage (mains voltage), and the display on the far right the cos Phi
(power factor). Cos Phi is the phase angle between current and vol-
tage and is in the case of rein ohmic consumers always "1". With
inductive consumers, cos Phi is between 0.3 and 0.98.
In the "main" display you can read off the actual power consumption
of your consumer.
4. In the second measurement program, press the button "UP" once,
and with the reference number "1", the cost per hour is shown in the
small display on the left (the setting is made in the next program
=Ref.-no. 2), while in the small display in the middle the number of
kWh is measured/shown, and the small display on the right shows the
total cost.

5.10 Inductance measurement
For measuring dead coils, proceed as follows:
Set the rotary selection switch to "mH" and connect the connecting
cables of the dead coil you are measuring into the measurement termi-
nal block. With very low inductance, such as 100 µH or lower, it is appro-
priate to use the special function "REL" (described under 4.3.4 e), to set
the display to "0000".
Important!
Do not connect voltages. These could irreparably damage the device.
When measuring inductance, the three small displays beneath the main
display are also active. The small display on the left shows the current
measurement value with 1 second delay. The middle display shows the
measurement value with 2 seconds delay, and the small display on the
right shows the measurement value with 3 seconds delay.
5.11 Usage of the Analogous Bargraph
The bargraph is easy to use and to understand. Is is comparable with the
needle of an analogous measuring instrument, but without its mechani-
cal disadvantages. Is is especially for quick changing measuring signals,
for which the digital display is too "slow". So you can quickly recognize
see tendencies in the measuring values. The measuring rate is 3-4 mea-
surements/s.
5.12 CMPower measurement
For measuring the power consumption of a consumer, e.g. TV or stereo
system in "standby", or irons or bulbs, etc., you require the power adap-
ter, which consists of a connector/socket unit on one side and the multi-
connector for connecting the Multimeter on the other side. Always first
connect the multiconnector to the Multimeter.
Next, connect the deactivated load/the deactivated consumer to the
safety socket of the adapter. Finally, connect the safety connector of the
adapter to a safety socket. Make sure that all connections are making
